India's Textile Industry 'Expansion' is the Keyword

According to the Ministry of Textiles annual report,the textile industry in India has an overwhelming presence in the country's economic life.In addition to providing one of the basic necessities of life,the industry plays a central role in contributing to the industrial output,employment generation and export earnings.The industry contributes about 14% to industrial production,4% to the GDP,and 16% to export earnings,while it provides direct employment to about 35 million people.The textile industry is the second largest employer after agriculture,thus the growth and development of this industry has a direct influence on the improvement of the country's economy.
