China eyes US LNG but wary over risk

China is interested in buying US LNG equivalent to at least 2bn ft3/d(20.6bn m3/yr)of gas,but is first seeking greater long-term certainty over prices,supply and governmental support,state-owned oil and gas firm PetroChina says. China does not want to commit to the current model for US LNG exports,under which buyers sign long-term liquefaction capacity agreements at a fixed price and then take the risk of securing feed gas at Henry Hub-based prices,PetroChina general manager of North America natu-ral gas Keo Lukefahr says.
