France exempts LNG transshipments

French energy regulator CRE has ruled that proposals to market a ship-to-ship LNG transfer service at the Montoir terminal will be exempt from the usual rules governing LNG import capacity. Terminal operator, and French utility GDF Suez subsidiary, Elengy plans to introduce direct ship-to-ship transfers between tankers docked at Montoir’s adjacent jetties.
