QCLNG output to average below capacity: BG

The UK’s BG sees the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) project in east Australia producing at an average of 8mn t/yr compared with nameplate capacity of 8.5mn t/yr and has indicated that it has bought LNG cargoes to fulfil its contractual obligations for the project, due to begin by the end of this year. QCLNG’s plateau production, expected in 2016, will be around 8mn t/yr of LNG, and would add volumes and flexibility to BG’s global LNG portfolio, BG interim executive chairman Andrew Gould told analysts on 29 October after the release of the company’s third-quarter results.
