A methodology and a tool have been developed to support a co-design approach to design1 analyse and also to maintain complex on-board multiplexed wiring architectures.The efforts to define optimal architectures have been dramatically reduced, thanks to the capability of the tools to automatically "generate" the components (ECUs and harness) features and to evaluate the costs, leading to a reduction of time to marketand of the multiplexed wiring systems product cost.Further developments are envisaged to link this tool with company data bases and CAE tools to facilitate the selection of the components and to support functional validations.
