Options of Partial Destruction of Small Electrical Appliances (Domestic Appliances) for Application in Dismantling Technology
After reaching the end of their life cycle, electrical and electronic equipment; particularly domestic appliances and entertainment electronics, are frequently disposed of together with bulky refuse, domestic garbage and similar commercial waste and are thus dumped on disposal sites and in incineration plants for domestic waste. For a general process of electronic scrap recycling, a process chain has been formed based on manual dismantling with subsequent mechanical and thermal processing. While mechanical procedures are currently of a high technical level, (almost) all dismantling procedures are based on manual processes. Experimental pilot tests on the development of partially destructive dismantling techniques have revealed that a purely mechanical breaking of small domestic appliances would, in principle, be a convenient; cost-cutting dismantling technology with similar dismantling results as for manual dismantling, but with considerably lower time requirements.
