Antimicrobial Properties of Copper and Copper Alloys and Their Applications

An ASTM International Workshop Lon Antimicrobial Properties of Copper and Copper Alloys and Their Applications will be held Oct. 25, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Atlanta, Ga. Sponsored by ASTM Committee B05 on Copper and Copper Alloys, the symposium is open to all interested individuals. Membership in ASTM International is not required. The workshop will feature a presentation by Dr. Harold Michels, vice president, technical and information services, the Copper Development Association. The focus will be the antimicrobial properties of copper and those practical applications that can take advantage of this intrinsic but overlooked property of copper alloys, including human infectious disease control.
