Wet Soil Washing - First Soil Washing Plant with High-Performance Attrition

In autumn 2004 a soil washing plant for the treatment of contaminated mineral waste went into operation at Regensdorf, Switzerland. The plant is designed to handle 60,000 t/a and is equipped with high-performance attritors. The initial operating performance demonstrates the excellent suitability of this process step for cleaning sand fractions. The sand and gravel products recovered by the soil washing are used as high-quality recycled building materials. The plant operator is Boden recycling AC, a company started up in Regensdorf in April 2004. This is the first soil washing plant equipped with the high-performance attritors patented by AKW Apparate + Verfahren GmbH.
