Baroid Fluid Services,a product service line of the Fluid Systems division of Halliburton,has introduced the Innovert drilling fluid system for use in areas where paraffin/mineral oil is the preferred base oil,eliminating barite sag,a condition where significant variation in mud density occurs while circulating bottoms-up after a trip or a logging/casing run.These variations can adversely affect hole cleaning and wellbore stability and potentially result in stuck pipe.
