Four heavy-duty truck manufacturers in Japan are coming to grip with automotive parts commonization for the purpose of the cost reduction. This communization activity is composed of the proposals mainly suggested by the automotive partsmanufacturers and the subjective activity mainly carried Out by said truck manufacturers. We describe the details, results and the outlook of the automotive parts communization in the heavy-duty truck manufacturers.
