Gail, Gazprom Sign Long-Term LNG Agreement

BMI View: The long-term LNG supply agreement between Gail and Gazprom will allow the latter to support diversifcation away from its reliance on gas exports to Europe. However, with India previously rejecting oil indexed gas supply contracts it deems exorbitant, and successfully securing gas linked to signifcantly lower US benchmark prices, Gazprom must ensure that its prices remain competitive if it is to grow its market share in the country.
