摘要

In order to adapt to higher exhaust gas temperature due to more rigorous emission regulation and higher power of the engine, the cast iron with superior heat resistance has been developed. The newly developed cast iron for the automotive exhaust manifold is characterized by the improvement in heat resistance. This improvement has been actualized by increasing Si component and adding the proper amount of V as compared with the conventional cast iron. By the results obtained in the bench durability test of the exhaust manifold parts, it has been proved that this improved material has superior thermal fatigue life to the Ni-resist cast iron.
