The status of standardization for ITS human factors

The international standardization activities of ITS Human Factors are promoted byISO/TC204/WG13 and ISO/TC22/SC13/WG8. The role of WG13 is to standardize the human factorsof the systems and infrastructures of TICS (Transport Information and Control Systems), and the roleof WG8 is to standardize the human factors of on-board TICS. The drafts of WG8 are making steadyprogress, but the items of WG13 were voted down. The important issues of standardization of thehuman factors are that we must proceed it as we develop ITS systems simultaneously. This paperpresents the status of international standardization, the domestic approaches, and their brief contentsdrafts.
