Car sharing championed for employees

Employers must do more to discourage single occupancy car use among their staff to reduce traffic and help the UK meet its climate targets, a webinar heard last month. "You don't have to follow (comedian) Peter Kay and go for the car share option", said University of Hertfordshire visiting professor Stephen Joseph, "but employers can promote sharing, as well as public transport and cycling. Targeting commuting can help to reduce single occupancy car use."
