PM Reduction Devices for Environment Security Ordinance in Eight Prefectures and Cities

摘要

The Environment Security Ordinance will be effective from October, 2003 in the Tokyo Metropolitan area and three prefectures. It stipulates that the vehicles not conforming to PM regulation in this standard can not be operated in the Metropolitan area. Though various types of devices to reduce PM are specified by the Governor each device has advantages and disadvantages individually to be adopted to variable operating conditions. As this regulation will be made more rigorous, in the near future, the DPF which can collect nano-sized PM should be required.
