Plans for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft operations are continuing to gather pace.Malaysian multinational low-cost airline AirAsia announced a memorandum of understanding with Irish-based lessor Avolon to lease 100 examples of the Vertical Aerospace VX4 aircraft currently under development in the UK.Avolon ordered 500 VX4s in June 2021 and previously placed 250 with Gol and Grupo Comporte in Brazil and up to 100 with Japan Airlines.
