SEED STAETING BASICS: WHICH POT IS BEST?

Does the size or material of the pot affect the growth of seeds? I wanted to know and started tomato, cucumber and lettuce seeds in various different containers. I used the same potting soil (Promix BX) in each pot, put them in my germination chamber,watered the seeds at the same time and noted the results. In a control plot we started the same seeds in the greenhouse in a growing tray to see if it made any difference. All the seeds were started on March 17th in the basement germination chamber. Each pot was placed in a tray and the tray covered with kitchen plastic wrap to keep it moist. The seed pellet tray came with its own plastic cover and did not require plastic wrap.
