Freight rates for shipping Turkmen product through Russia by river grew sharply in March. This reflects heavy sales of Turkmen product for transportation through Rus- sia's Volga-Don waterway system and a lack of goods that are able to be carried by ore-bulk-oil carriers from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea, according to market participants.
