A prolonged strike by Brazilian oil workers that has cost state-controlled Petro- bras nearly 110,000 b/d in lost crude production is drawing to an end, with more dissident unions voting to return to work. The strike, which started on 1 November, is the longest to hit the Brazilian oil industry in two decades. In addition to demands for higher wages, workers wanted Petrobras to scale back a restructuring and divestiture plan that is ex- pected to result in job losses.
