Importers seek alternatives to Druzhba

Countries that import crude along the Druzhba pipeline from Russia are looking for alternative ways to supply their refineries, although the options are limited. Recent efforts have focused on expanding the capacity of the Adria pipeline to ship crude from the Adriatic coast to refineries in Hungary and Slovakia (see map). Hungary’s Mol last month expanded the capacity of Adria’s Hungarian section to 280,000 b/d from 200,000 b/d.
