Caspian freight rates remain stable

The cost of shipping products from the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea through Russia’s Volga-Don waterway was unchanged in September, although shipping companies expect freight rates to start rising before the end of river navigation in late November. Freight rates for product deliveries from Turkmenistan’s port of Turkmenbashi along the Volga-Don to the Ukrainian ports of Kherson and Zaporozhye remained at $80-90/t in September, with the rate for deliveries from Turkmenbashi to Russia’s Black Sea port of Kavkaz and the Crimean port of Kerch at $85-90/t.
