High US gasoline prices have drawn record imports this year.US gasoline imports in the first six months of 2006 were almost 1.2mn b/d,26pc higher than the same period last year,says EIA data.May gasoline imports were almost 1.4mn b/d,more than the previous monthly record of 1.33mn b/d set last October after disruption from hurricanes.
