Keppel halts work on Sete deepwater rigs

Singapore-based shipbuilder Keppel has halted the construction of six ultra-deepwater rigs ordered by cash-strapped Brazilian contractor Sete Brasil. Keppel had slowed work on the rigs after Sete failed to make payments from November 2014, and stopped work altogether at the end of last year. Sete has paid only $1.3bn for contracts valued at around $6.2bn, Keppel says.
