Swipe Back is a metaverse creative agency that supports brands as they navigate from Web 2.0 into the burgeoning metaverse industry.Co-founded by Nikhil Roy,the agency's expertise revolves around mixed reality,gaming,virtual influencers,social media and NFTs-digital mediums which have become instrinctly linked with the metaverse.Roy tells Cosmetics Business how beauty brands can best utilise Web 3.0,authentically target their consumer audience and what they can expect in 2023.Can you offer a simple explanation of what the metaverse is?At the moment the metaverse is a fantasy more than a reality.When you say metaverse,a lot of people think about a virtual,persistent world that you enter with VR headsets like in Ready Player One,but this does not exist yet and may never exist.At the moment it is more of a collection of different platforms with radically different looks,capabilities and technologies that are not connected one to another.
