Benchmarks surpass $50/bl

1. Crude prices climbed to over $50/bl after Opec members reached an agreement to limit production and as US crude inventories fell. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated gained $1.86/bl to $50.24/bl, while US marker WTI rose by $2.61/bl to $50.44/bl. 2. North Sea crude prices fell sharply against North Sea Dated, with the Buzzard field and the Brent pipeline system scheduled to return from maintenance. Second-half October Forties crude cargoes changed hands at 85￠/bl discounts to North Sea Dated, down from bids at 25￠/bl premiums a week earlier. Norwegian Oseberg premiums to the benchmark declined to around 40￠/bl.
