Badische Stahl-Engineering GmbH (BSE) is an engineering and consulting company, which is linked with the well known sister company, the minimill Badische Stahlwerke GmbH (BSW). Besides selling technical equipment to the steel industry, BSE offers consulting services to steel and rolling mills all over the world (Fig.1) Partnership is the key concept of the consulting business, which means a close relationship with the client is more important than a quick deal. Therefore, planning and cooperation must rather be erational and administrative procedures, better skilled and motivated workforces, and safer and easier working conditions. On the other hand, consultants who are not theorists, but experienced and qualified specialists from the steel industry.
