Lisco starts bar mill cold trials, production expected in Q4

Libyan Iron & Steel Co (Lisco) has begun cold trials at its new 800,000 metric tons/ year rebar mill with the view to commencing commercial production in the fourth quarter this year, company management told Platts Wednesday. Efforts to boost exports to neighbouring Algeria, in order to offset weaker demand from traditional southern European markets, are also well underway.
