Al Jazeera Tube Mills, a leading producer of steel tubes and pipes in the Gulf region, is planning to set up a merchant bar mill to manufacture angles and flat bars. The capital expenditure of the unit, which will have an installed capacity of 200,000 tonnes per annum, is estimated at RO 18 million, said Mohammed Abdullah Moosa, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the company. The board has already approved the proposal to establish the new unit, which will be located at the Sohar Industrial Estate. "We can almost double the capacity later with some additional investment", he noted.
