Appeals court orders new review of Tyson COVID-19 complaint

A federal appeals court has revived a lawsuit brought by workers at a Tyson Foods meatpacking plant in Texas who allege the company failed to protect them from COVID-19 in the early months of the pandemic. The three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit rejected Tyson’s argument it was operating under a federal directive to keep its plants open, including the beef packing facility in Amarillo, Texas.
