EU glyphosate applicants confident of emergency extension

Applicants for the approval of the herbicide, glyphosate, in the EU remain confident of an emergency one-year extension to the current authorisation to allow time for the authorities to conclude the reassessment. The comments come from the applicant, Glyphosate Renewal Group (GRG), comprising nine agrochemical companies. EU member states blocked a one-year emergency extension for the approval of glyphosate beyond its December 2022 authorisation earlier this month.
