Among the healthy financial results and operational achievements announced by Total for the first half of 2003,the strong growth in its worldwide hydrocarbon production(up 5%)did not pass unnoticed.In contrast,the French company's principal competiitors are experiencing major problems in achieving good performances in this respect,and Total is clearly an exception to the rule on this score.
