Brazilian MPs OK ag biologicals bill

The Brazilian Chamber of Deputies’ constitution and justice select committee (CCJ) has approved a bill to regulate the production, marketing and use of biological agriculture inputs. The Chamber of Deputies is the Brazilian Parliament’s lower house. The range of products that would be covered includes living organisms, such as bacteria, insects or plants, used to improve soil fertility, as well as provide crop protection alternatives to chemical pesticides.
