USDA deregulates Bayer’s GM short stature corn

The USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has deregulated Bayer’s Crop Science division’s genetically modified short stature corn (maize), MON94804. The corn line has been designed to reduce gibberellic acid, a plant growth hormone, to produce shorter plants and reduce the chances of lodging.
