Agriculture MEPs push to keep EU farming policies focused on food security

Members of the European Parliament (MEP) have voted against re-directing the EU's farming policies towards environmental goals and preferred to keep a focus on food security due to the war in Ukraine. On 30 January, the European Parliament's Agriculture Committee (AGRI) adopted their vision on possible changes to the EU treaties and voted to keep the current goals of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) intact.
