VAI POMINI gets new order from Ping-Xiang, China for bar and section mill

VAIPOMINI, and VOEST-ALPINE INDUSTRIEN-LAGENBAU (VAI), has been awarded a new order from PingXiang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. China, for the supply of a new 700,000 t/y bar and section mill.The mill, which will produce plain bars in the range of 14 to 50 mm, rebar from 10 to 40 mm diameter and flats in the range of 6 X 25 to 12 X 120 mm, will feature the latest generation of the VAIPOMINI s patented super heavy duty Red Ring stands, the PQS-Pomini-Quenching System, heavy duty Shears and Multi-strand Straightner. Start up of the mill is scheduled for summer 2002.
