Barge prices fell on trade this week at the US Gulf coast as results from India’s latest tender did little to lift market sentiment, which remains weak as hand-to-mouth buying continues ahead of the spring application season. Barges for delivery through March sold as low as $290/st fob Nola, framing the low end of the week’s $290-315/st fob Nola range. Loaded and prompt barges commanded a premium to tons for other delivery windows throughout the week, even as barge values slipped overall.
