The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) hosted an International Fleet Review (IFR) in Sagami Bay, off the southern coast of Japan, writes Yoshiharu Fukushima. It featured 20 JMSDF surface warships and three submarines, along with a Japan Coast Guard (JCG) patrol vessel. Seventeen foreign surface warships and a submarine also took part. The spectacular event was held to mark the 70th anniversary of JMSDF. For our reports and also imagery, see P26/30.
