Central Appalachian river lock repairs delayed

Coal traffic on the Kanawha river will not be delayed this month after repair work at a major lock and dam was postponed. The main chamber of the Winfield lock and dam in Winfield, West Virginia, was supposed to close in late February for repairs to its miter gates. Coal was expected to move through its smaller chamber at a much slower pace.
