Solutions'journalists and contributorsare often called on to attend press conferences and launches where, to be frank, the information being imparted is either uninspiring or occasionally total nonsense. So when a letter landed on the Solutions'desk with an invitation to attend the"world premier of pure bilge"it seemed that someone somewhere was being refreshingly honest abouttheir product and it would bea shame to pass up such an opportunity. Especially as it was taking place at London's Dorchester hotel and would be followed by a lunch in the penthouse suite. As it turned out it was not pure bilge but PureBilge that was making its first appearance and the name had been chosen by its maker Alfa Laval to fit in with its other ranges of marine equipment such as PureBallast and PureAir. Our Swedish hosts shared our amusement when the unfortunate connotations of the name they had chosen was explained to them.
