WITH the current flux in the profession and the recruitment crisis, many nurses are asking themselves whether now is the time to talk about pay.Being a veterinary nurse has always been a profession that wouldn't make you a millionaire, but would fill you up with that warm fuzzy feeling. However, is brandishing our pitchforks and torches to campaign for better pay the way to go?I have longed to be appreciated for my skills and would like there to be a financial reflection of that. For this to become a reality, I have actively engaged in conversations in which my salary and performance have been discussed. I understand that in the veterinary profession this is deemed unacceptable.Instead, we should be banded into groups based on experience that makes such conversations unwarranted.
