Power profiling

A surge of investment in offshore renewable energy generation in recent years has given rise to a fast expanding fleet of specialised vessels capable of transporting and installing wind turbines in huge arrays. There are operational challenges in establishing wind turbines of increasing unit power and size, at greater distances from land and in water depths up to 60m. The nature of the propulsion and manoeuvring arrangements are absolutely critical to performance under the exacting contractual and environmental conditions faced by operators of wind turbine installation vessels (WTIVs).
