Not all roads lead to China. At least, as far as APL and its parent company Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) are concerned. It might well be difficult to ignore the exponential growth of that country's container exports, hut some ocean carriers have been investing in the Indian and Mid-East markets, as well. APL is one of the market leaders here. Brian Lutt is NOLs regional president for Asia/Mid-East. His remit is huge, stretching from South East Asia to Australia, Egypt and East Africa, including the Mid-East and the Indian Subcontinent.
