A place for enzymes

From various estimates around 35-40% of western European pig feeds, for the stage between weaning and 20-25kg, have carbohydrase enzymes added to them. The proportion has increased considerably over the last 2-3 years alongside growing confidence that their addition brings clear, cost-effective responses. Europe's present enzyme usage in grow-finish diets presents a marked contrast. Perhaps no more than 5-10% of the feeds in current use from 25kg to 100kg routinely have a carbohydrase enzyme inclusion.
