World fleet changes, August 2007

Atotal of 49 ships, with a combined slot capacity of 353,584TEU, were ordered during August. The orderbook for fully cellular vessels now stands at 5.8 million TEU (1,325 ships), representing 56.4 of the active fully cellular fleet. Newbuild activity registered during the month included: 1. Seaspan's contract for 8 x 13,100TEU vessels at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), with a contracted price of USD165 million per ship. All eight units will be chartered to Coscon for 12 years and will be delivered during 2011 3. a further 4 x 12,600TEU vessels for Hamburg-based Peter Doehle.
