Key View: We have revised upwards our forecast CAGR in weighted local currency terms and now project that the Latin American medical device market will grow at a 2019-2024 CAGR of 7.6%, substantially lower than the 2014-2019 CAGR of 12.3%. The 2019-2024 CAGR will reflect policy uncertainties, lower near-term economic outlook due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the effects of the increasing US focus on trade and foreign policy, migration challenges, slower demographic growth, efforts to contain health expenditure, the growth of public healthcare sectors, slower medical device import growth, domestic medical device production geared towards the internal market with the exception of Mexico and increasing medical device market competition.
