Latest Updates We have maintained our forecast CAGR and project that the MENA medical device market will grow at a 2021-2026 CAGR of 7.2 in weighted local currency terms, lower than the value for 2016-2021 CAGR of 8.1. As oil production picks up, in line with a recovery in global demand, we anticipate stronger growth and narrowing fiscal deficits, while the more stable economic outlook allows for greater progress on reform. Nevertheless, long-standing macroeconomic imbalances and elevated political challenges suggest not all MENA markets will recover at the same pace, with many of the smaller countries in the Levant and North Africa likely to continue to grapple with lingering scars from the pandemic. This will pose mixed risks for MENA medical device markets. On a product basis, orthopaedics products will record the highest 2021-2026 CAGR. On the other hand, consumables will register the lowest 2021-2026 CAGRs in weighted local currency terms. Note, CAGRs are in weighted local currency terms, which are aggregated from the country-level US dollar proportions and have been equalised to minimise currency fluctuations using a time series-weighted calculation.
