Germany's new renewable energy law will end growth in the country's biomass generation capacity when it takes force next month,a report carried out for the energy ministry concludes. About 42MW of biomass generation capacity is expected on line this year,up from 31MW in 2013,as investors race to remain eligible under the existing rules,which expire at the end of 2014,biomass research institute DBFZ said in its report,released this week.The new law provides feed-in tariffs(FITs)of?140/MWh for the smallest plants,falling to ?120/MW for larger plants of at least 1.5MW.This compares with a minimum of around?190/MWh under the previous revision in 2012 and?200/MWh under the 2009 rules.
