The fob Vietnam wood pellet spot price held fat over the week at $88.92/t, as many market participants were taking a “wait-and-see approach” ahead of next week’s anticipated tender by South Korean utility Kowepo, traders said. Kowepo’s tender for 60,000t of wood pellets, initially expected in mid-August, is now anticipated to be announced on 23 August. The tender will mark the utility’s third tender for wood pellets or woody biomass solid recovered fuel (SRF) this year.
