Free Trade Zones (FTZs) are commonplace around the world, although more often than not they tend to be located in developing countries. Generally speaking, FTZs have close ties with nearby container ports and airports, as access to good international transport infrastructure is vital in importing and exporting goods efficiently and cost-effectively to/from the zone.
