China's May antimony metal output rises

China's antimony metal output increased from a month earlier and year earlier in May, as many smelters in major production hubs restarted output following the end of environmental inspections and higher arrivals of concentrate supplies since April. May production rose to 6,897t, up by 18.48pc from 5,821t in April and by 13.62pc from 6,070t a year earlier, according to data from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. Output during January-May totalled 27,459t, down by 7.55pc from 29,700t in the corresponding period of 2020.
